Mart & Jev_-47

Mart and Jev are both friends of mine back from Youth for Christ days (so long a time ago). They've become Singles for Christ and now, Couples for Christ since they're married.

All our YFC and SFC friends were there including our ever trusty Tito's and Tita's who are the couple's godparents for the wedding -- and everyone else's wedding including mine and the rest of the Fotomoments team, too.

The choir were all YFC/SFCs headed by Munel and Balong. It was like a reunion of sorts really. Even Sigfried who came in from Singapore for another wedding, was present. Even Stephen was there with his girlfriend! Everyone was there. To the delight of the couple.

So, anyways, there we were at Bohol Tropics Resort at ten in the morning to shoot the preps. I was relieved to find my favorite wedding suppliers around -- EJ Relampagos and Henry Baron for the clothes; Donald and his team for the make-up.

Jev was just stunning, lovely. Her dress immaculate and her make-up was just perfect. Her mom could never be happier.

Jev walked down the long aisle of Baclayon Church. It was funny looking at all the tourists all over the sidelines watching and snapping photos as the bride walked on by. This church is a crucial stop for the "Bohol Tour" and so weddings won't be as private around these parts.

The SFC/YFC group is one raucous gang. That's Tito Andy and Tita Chit in the middle, surrounded by a bunch of brats.

I just had to slip a shot with me in it!hahaha

All in all, it was a nice ceremony. The couple did their vows and we could only pray they keep them. Both of them are nice so that shouldn't be a problem especially with the YFC/SFC/CFC influence. :)

Anyways, here are some photos from the reception.

In behalf of the Fotomoments team, together with Jude and Jaydee, I would like to congratulate Mart and Jev for the successful wedding. We hope that, with God's help, you will cherish the love you share for the rest of your lives. Rest assured us your friends will always be here to help you..help you pray that is! (hehehe)

Wedding Photography by Ryan Macalandag
Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines

Here are some photos from Eumir and Darlene's wedding last Friday (8/8/08). The preps were done at the MetroCentre Hotel and the wedding held in Our Lady of Lourdes Parish.

I didn't really know the couple as I had only seen them during the day of the wedding. They were clients of CreativImage who were doing the video.

The room they got (for the bridal preparations) was huge. It was one of the suites on the 8th floor and had a huge window. The pink curtains and the blue walls messed up our white balance though. And the number people present made the room small. Nonetheless, me and my second photographer, Jude Montejo, had fun though.

The grooms room was a lot smaller but with the few people there, the shoot was a breeze.

Ryan Li and Joel Diccion, two of Bohol's top videographers also had a great time shooting especially with their new "toys" they were using.

The bride, Darlene, is from Palawan. She flew in with her sister and parents.

Anxiously waiting for the elevator to come up. Wedding starts at 9am and this wedding was already running late (as with most other weddings!)

Waiting for people to arrive, weddings are usually late. That's why priests who get mad for late weddings leave a bad taste in people's mouths.

Bohol Wedding Photography by Ryan Macalandag

Anipher getting ready

Anipher had come to me not because we were classmates in high school but because Rally MiƱoza (only the best florist in town) referred me to her. Way back in high school, although I was already doing photography then, nobody would have figured out that I was to be a wedding photographer someday. They would have imagined along the lines of "IT Specialist" or "Communications Engineer" or "Ryan the Clown". Definitely not "Wedding Photographer". But I digress.

Ronnel and Anipher met in Taiwan. They worked there and by some stroke of (text) luck, they hooked up. Some friend gave one the other's mobile number, began SMS-ed each other, dated at a train station, yadda, yadda and the rest they say is history.

Thus, last Sunday, in Lindaville Church, the couple hooked up one final time that would last them their lifetimes. They exchanged vows in front of family and friends.

Here are some highlights.

Their ring is amazing. The silver band in the middle actually rotates along the bigger golden band. Cool.

Uncle's Advice

After the lunch reception, we had at least an hour to shoot some post-nups. Turned out pretty good. The weather cooperated.

Photos by Bohol Wedding Photographer Ryan Macalandag
Clients: Kim and Cindy Majam
Church: Dauis Church
Preps & Reception: Panglao Island Nature Resort

TTD 2 face copy

I had the opportunity to shoot Kim & Cindy for their Bohol wedding. They were quite young and hip and wanted a Bohol wedding photographer who can explore. So I did a "Trash the Dress" session with them right after the church ceremonies.

The day had started with a fickle weather already. It drizzled slightly in the morning but the sun had shone nicely that afternoon. But come late afternoon, the rain was torrential - almost a storm. All the plans I had for their post-ceremony shoot was gone and had to think fast and sure. I had thought we would do a sunset shoot by the beach already but the setting sun was nowhere to be found.

Thinking quick, we still headed for the beach in dark and did a TTD shoot amidst the thrashing waves. The couple were so cooperative and we had a blast. It was still raining then so we finished quick. My camera was a bit wet, needless to say.

Trash the dress intimacy copy

The photos above are some of my early edits and loved it. Amazed really. And quite humbled by the experience as well. As a photographer, I learned that I could only do as much. Beauty really should come from the subject. It is only up to the photographer to capture the moment if only to record it to be cherished for years to come.

Thanks for the opportunity, Kim and Cindz.
